The day my lunch started talking.

Image
25 November 2025 Our school is a really wacky place. But one of the weirdest things that ever happened was when my lunch started talking—magically! In this story, I will fill you in on exactly what happened when my lunch began talking. It all started during lunch period (well, obviously). I pulled out my favourite and most recent lunchbox, which is purple. It’s basically a souvenir to me nowadays. Somehow, when I took my very first bite of the mac and cheese my mom made, the lunchbox suddenly grew eyes, a nose, and a mouth. I was like, “How did this happen?” But it had happened—no question, no doubt. Then my lunchbox started talking. Lunchbox: Hi, fellow kid! Shalom: How can you even talk? Lunchbox: I happen to have no idea myself. But at least we can be friends! Shalom: Okay, we can. So, what do you want to do first? Lunchbox: Talk about your favourite food and why. Shalom: Okay, sure. My favourite is this mac and cheese. The reason why is because it is creamy and tasty. Lunchbo...

Books or Movies: Which is better?

Image
Have you watched a movie based on a book as well as read the book? If so, have you asked someone, Is the book better or the movie?" In this passage, I will present my views on whether watching a film based on a book is better than reading the book itself. First, reading the book can help improve children's reading skills and vocabulary because books can be descriptive and use words that some people don't know about. Next, the book can help with creative imagination. However, books tend to take longer to read and understand, depending on children's reading skills and interest in the story. A child's interest in reading a book depends on the author's style of writing. For instance, I  found reading The Wild Robot easier than reading The Hobbit because it had not very many difficult words as well as clear and short. This is why books are an advantage and a disadvantage. The movie, however, has audio and visuals to keep the viewers engaged in the story. Movies in...

Class Pet

Image
Taking care of a class pet at school can be fun and a disadvantage at the same time. In this passage,  I will explain the advantages and disadvantages of having a class pet and unravel my personal opinion at the end.  The first reasoTaking care of a class pet at school can fun and disadvantageous at the same time. In this passage, I will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of having a class pet and unravel my personal opinion at the end.  The first reason having a class pet is an advantage is that students will be responsible enough to ensure the safety of the class pets from other students. Next, students will be motivated to learn how to take care of the class pet by reading books about the class pet, and this helps them learn and become smarter. Finally, students will be responsible for feeding the class pet. These are the important life skills the students can learn.  The negative sides of the argument also present valid reasons. For the first instance, mone...

How does it work - Maglev Train & Scrap Yards

Image
Have you ever been on a maglev train or worked in a scrapyard and wondered "How do these things work?" I will write about how maglev and scrap magnets get into action. The maglev trains and scrap magnets work by using electromagnets . The maglev train has U-shaped undercarriage which gets attracted by the track due to magnetism, so the train moves along the rails. There are guidance magnets in the train which include magnetic repulsion; they help direct the train to either left or right, or stop the train from crossing the tracks and falling down. The driver is not the only one driving the train! In fact , there are levitation magnets which have computers controlling them in order to slow down the train, keep it on the track, and move the train. In a scrapyard, there will be a crane with the magnet which picks up car scraps. It also has an iron disc which is armored with an electric coil to pick up the scraps. It has a switch to turn on so the magnet works just like ...

How does it work - Teeth

Image
Teeth is the starting point of the our food's journey to our stomach. In this passage, I will write about different types of teeth, carnivore teeth and herbivore teeth. The molars are the edge of the cheek. They have ridges or cusps so they can grind and crunch food (for example a cookie). The premolars are next, as the brother of the molar as I like to call it, basically works as a grinder and grinds the food into a paste. The canines are like a gripping tool, so they help grip the food and tear it into smaller pieces. Finally, the incisors are chisel shaped teeth which are at the front of the mouth and they help cut food into small pieces like the scissors that help to cut and that is why it sounds like the scissors - incisors.  Carnivores have very sharp teeth. Their canines are just like swords it can easily slice the prey up and eat it. The molars are like blades which are strong enough to slice a prey's skin and can crunch the bones. Herbivores are almost the opposite,...

How does it work - Digestive System

Image
The digestive system is an integral part of the human body. In this passage, I will write about how the digestive system works.  Let's say a hamburger is consumed. The burger is chewed by the teeth in a person's mouth and broken down into a paste. The saliva moisturises the paste, and then the food enters the oesophagus. The oesophagus is what connects the mouth and the stomach. The muscles in the oesophagus wall contract and relax to push the hamburger paste down to the stomach.  When the food reaches the stomach, the food paste mixes with the stomach acid. The digestive enzymes break down the food particles. From the stomach, the food reaches the small intestine. The small intestine is a 7 foot and 23 inches tube coiled up , and it provides nutrients to the blood. The enzymes in the small intestine digest the protein, carbs and fat.  Finally, the food passes to the large intestine. The bacteria feed on the remaining nutrients, releasing more nutrients to the bloo...

Birthday 2025

Image
Dear grandpa, My 9th birthday is coming up very soon, so in this letter that I am writing to you, I am going to tell you what I wish to do on my 9th birthday. (from morning to evening). In the afternoon, after having lunch which might be paneer and pulav that I'm hoping my Mother will make for me, I wish for my parents to take me to the mall so  I can get a hoverboard, a keychain, a soccer ball, and a LEGO set. After doing those, we will head home so my parents can rest for a while, while they do so I can do some drawing. In the evening we will head to the Living waters church to have some fun, worship, and have a big feast! I am looking...
