Books or Movies: Which is better?
Have you watched a movie based on a book as well as read the book? If so, have you asked someone, Is the book better or the movie?" In this passage, I will present my views on whether watching a film based on a book is better than reading the book itself.
First, reading the book can help improve children's reading skills and vocabulary because books can be descriptive and use words that some people don't know about. Next, the book can help with creative imagination. However, books tend to take longer to read and understand, depending on children's reading skills and interest in the story. A child's interest in reading a book depends on the author's style of writing. For instance, I found reading The Wild Robot easier than reading The Hobbit because it had not very many difficult words as well as clear and short. This is why books are an advantage and a disadvantage.
The movie, however, has audio and visuals to keep the viewers engaged in the story. Movies in one language can also be translated into various languages, so if a person who speaks a different language wants to watch the movie, it will be possible for them to do so. The downside of watching movies is that the movies can be addictive and make children lazy to do other things. Sometimes the movie can also cut parts of the book's plot out and making the movie not seem like the book. These are why the movies based on the book are good and bad.
In conclusion, my opinion is that the books are better. The movies can be fun and entertaining, but books have helped me improve my vocabulary. I started reading small books for kids that were 10 pages long and slowly grew up to read more lengthy books like The Chronicles of Narnia. "The lion, the witch and the wardrobe". Now I have a reading log, and thanks to books, I fill it out every day, and I have made it a habit to read.
