 Hey guys,

Disclaimer: Sorry about the delay. I guess it’s because I’ve had a ton of homework and tests, especially the SBA. Also, The Dazzling Moon: Episode 2 won’t be coming due to even more delays—it may never come. 😔
So thankfully, I hope you enjoy the story I made to replace The Dazzling Moon. Let’s do this!

Tom was very excited because today he got to go to Houston with his family (his mom, his dad, and his sister Melissa) for five whole days! He was so excited that he jumped with joy.

(This is the first dialogue in the story.)
Tom’s Mom: Whoa, whoa, whoa—dinosaur! We live in an apartment, so if the neighbors hear you, they’ll get disturbed (and complain).
Tom’s Dad: What Evie means is, be chill, okay?
Tom (thankfully): Okay. 😊 😊 😊

One hour later, Tom and his family arrived at the airport (a.k.a. the plane’s dwelling place).
Melissa: Remember what Mom and Dad said about being chill.
She whispered it into Tom’s ear.

Tom and his family boarded Magnificent Starter Airlines, which was the airplane taking them to Houston. An air hostess came by after they boarded (well, of course she did 😄). She explained the safety instructions in case of an emergency, and then she left.

After two long minutes, the plane took off. Tom saw a map that said, “The flight has successfully taken off.” He got curious.

Tom: Mom, can you tell me how the map works?
Mom: Okay, but first, get your writing slate.

Tom opened his Lightning McQueen backpack and pulled out his slate.

Mom: Okay, now think of this circle I drew as the Earth. (draws a circle)
So you see this line I drew horizontally? That’s the latitude.
And this line vertically? That’s the longitude.
These are imaginary lines that split the Earth into two.
The equator runs across the Earth from east to west.
The prime meridian runs from north to south.
Latitude and longitude work together as coordinates to show where a place is on the map.

Tom: Thanks for teaching me, Mom.
Mom: Anything for my son. 😊

  Dear grandpa, My 9th birthday is coming up very soon, so in this letter that I am writing to you, I am going to tell you what I wish to do on my 9th birthday. (from morning to evening). When I wake up in the morning, the first thing  I will do is shout "It's my birthday!" Then I will go brush my teeth like I usually do. How does it work - Maglev Train & Scrap Yards

  Have you ever been on a maglev train or worked in a scrapyard and wondered "How do these things work?" I will write about how maglev and scrap magnets get into action. The maglev trains and scrap magnets work by using electromagnets . The maglev train has U-shaped undercarriage which gets attracted by the track due to magnetism, so the train moves along the rails. There are guidance magnets in the train which include magnetic repulsion; they help direct the train to either left or right, or stop the train from crossing the tracks and falling down. The driver is not the only one driving the train! In fact , there are levitation magnets which have computers controlling them in order to slow down the train, keep it on the track, and move the train. In a scrapyard, there will be a crane with the magnet which picks up car scraps. It also has an iron disc which is armored with an electric coil to pick up the scraps. Dolphins

  Dolphins are very intriguing creatures. In this passage, I am going to explore some fascinating facts about dolphins. The first remarkable fact about dolphins is that they are really smart. A dolphin's trainer might use hand signals to represent objects. For example, the trainer would throw a ball into the water and signal, "Is there a ball?" The dolphin would respond with a "yes." Then, the trainer might point to a broken vase and signal, "Is the vase broken?" The dolphin would answer "no." Dolphins are intelligent enough to remember the hand sign for an unbroken vase and respond correctly. The another remarkable fact about dolphins is that they can communicate with each other, just like humans. But instead of using English, they rely on motions and sounds to communicate.
